Terms to Purchase:

South Star Moulding is a wholesale only, to-the-trade supplier of picture framing products.  To purchase products from South Star you MUST meet the following criteria:

  1. Your primary business must be picture framing, photography, visual artist or other framing related business.
  2. You must provide us with a copy of your current state-issued sales tax exempt certificate and number.
  3. We reserve the right to refuse our services to anyone who does not meet these criteria.

Delivery / Pick-up / Shipping:

We offer free delivery to full-time, retail businesses located in commercially developed areas that are designated by South Star.  There are no minimum orders required for delivery.  There are no delivery fees.  South Star retains the right to make decisions on delivery status.

Orders for chop service must be submitted by 1 p.m. the day before your designated delivery date.  Orders for length, supplies, and mats must be submitted by 3 p.m. the day before your designated delivery date.

Pickup orders for chop service require a minimum of 24-hour notice.  Pickup orders for length, supplies and mats should be phoned in at least 4-hours prior to the desired pick-up time.

FedEx shipping orders received after 11 a.m. CST will ship the following day. Free standard FedEx ground shipping is offered on chop orders of $99 and on length orders of $250.  Customer is responsible for any additional FedEx initiated charges. Please see our shipping page for more details.

Chopping Instructions:

All chop orders are cut with 1/8" allowance unless otherwise requested or is a floater frame.

Floater frames are always cut exact. Please include your 'reveal' in your measurements.

If you need a chop cut exact, tip-to-tip, sight size or straight cut, please be sure to specify at the time of order.  Sizes or instructions cannot be changed once the order has been cut.

Our Vendor Partners:

South Star distributes moulding from 12 different suppliers. We stock approximately 2,000 individual moulding SKUs and offer access to each of our vendors complete lines through our industry-leading Vendor Partner Program.  We also stock our own imported line... Tesoro!

Our special order “Partner Program” mouldings are ordered just for you.  We place orders with our vendors on a set schedule.  We would generally hope to have the special order moulding to you within 1-2 weeks of your order date as long as the vendor is in stock.  Once the order has been shipped by the vendor, we cannot return the special order “Partner Program" mouldings.

We place our orders at 8:00a.m. on the following days:

Fridays:                           AMPF, Décor, Michelangelo, Omega, Presto, Studio, Universal-Arquati

Authorization to Return a product:

All returns require pre-authorization by a South Star customer service representative.  Any due credits will be issued after the product has been returned.  A request for return of any product must be made within 30 days invoice.  Your customer service representative is required to get approval from ownership for Return Authorization for items over 30 days.  Items requested to return after 30 days may be subject to a return charge.

Credit Policy:

Open credit account are available to full-time, retail-only business with good credit histories. To establish an open credit account you must complete a South Star credit application.  Please allow us 2 to 3 weeks to process your application as some references may be slow to respond.

All orders are prepaid using credit card until an open account is established.


Customers that we ship product to outside of our delivery area are asked pay by credit card.

All open accounts are NET 30 days from the date of invoice.

  • a 1-1/2% finance charge will be added to all past due balances.  An account is past due as of day 31.
  • 30-60 days past due - your account is subject to review and may be referred to credit card/COD only until current.
  • 60 days past due - your account is automatically COD plus a pre-set portion of the past due amount.
  • 90 days past due - your account is subject to being closed and referred for collection.

A $38 service charge is added to all returned checks. Multiple occurrences will incur a credit card prepay policy.

Discounts Available:

Discounts are available on most all of our products.  Customers can qualify for our All-Star Discount program based on their volume of business.  These discounts are pre-set based on your monthly/annual volume. Please refer to our discount and awards page for details.

Volume chop frame discounts are as follows:

When in need of multiple chops in the sample moulding and the same size we do offer a single order discount:

  • 10 to 14 frames - 5% discount
  • 15 to 19 frames - 10% discount
  • 20 or more frames - please request a quote


Do to the many vendors we work with and the large volume of products we offer there is a chance that items will be backordered by the vendor from time to time.  We have no control over their backorder status with the vendor.  We will alert you to the backorder status of mouldings or supplies as we are updated from the vendor.  Items already on order with us that receive a new, updated status will be moved to the "new" backorder date unless you cancel the order.   We automatically deliver backorders once the materials are received in our warehouse.


We attempt to make our customers aware of price changes as they occur; however, prices are subject to change without prior notice.  Please be sure to update our customer service reps with your current email address as we email all notices, price sheets and updates as they occur.  All pricing is available to our customers at anytime by having a website customer login.  If you do not have a login please contact Customer Service to obtain your personal login.
